Alpha 2 v2 home edition factory reset
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:06:21 AM »
Blue alpha v2 home edition received in July has worked reasonably well until I factory reseated him
Now all I have is a led lamp
He has no wifi ( no blue light at all in chest at any time of Operation)
He does turn on with a white light in chest then blank and unless I long press for off and I get the usual red to green flashes then off fully his
He does not speak at all and does not move other than he poses at on and off but servos are relaxed in between on and off
The lights on his head still work but the pattern does not change unless I use fastboot mode but then this seems to fail me too
No files at all on the alpha portable media device
Can anybody please help me

Hi Nyall,

If he does nothing but flash his eyes then you need to reinstall the apk's and check he still has actions on the nand flash.

You need to install the APK's by connecting him upto a PC. When you plug him in you should get a message on your PC.. from there you will need to install Vysor which will help you see whats going on inside alpha.

The three APK's you need to install are in the download section here. They are...

Alpha2Services-english-1.1.3.9 5mic.apk
AlphaEnglishChat-1.0.0.10--6.apk
smartcamera-V1.1.0.1-3.apk

When you have set up Vysor, check to see if you have a file explorer in the app menu. If so, just copy each apk into your download folder on your nand flash and install via the explorer in Alpha.  If you don't have an filer explorer then you will need to sideload that first... I can help with this too.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi,

You need to sideload it via ADB.. So you will need to do something like...

1. Connect alpha to the usb port and turn him on.
2. Download this -->  http://alpha2.uk/images/fminstall.zip and unzip
3. Run installapk.bat

It take about 30 seconds to install and will tell you if its been a Success or not.. please wait whilst its doing it.

If it's worked it should install it for you. :-)

Let me know how you get on.
